Spirit of Stage Challenge

Congratulations to our wonderful Stage Challenge team.  Your dedication, commitment and energy has been
fabulous and we are so proud of your achievement;

Award of Excellence for Costuming Character

Award of Excellence for Soundtrack

Award of Excellence for Spirit of Stage Challenge, for which we are especially proud.  This award is for the school that best embodies the aims/spirit of Stage Challenge and is voted for by all the competing schools.

A special thank you to Whaea Piki who volunteered her time to help with hair and make-up and also to the other parents who assisted on the day.  It was a long day, but we had a lot of fun and will have life-long memories of this amazing experience.

Our 20 Hour Tech Black Out

Our 20 hour tech blackout at Mokoia Intermediate was a great success. What an amazing group of 23 students! We slept over in the school library and fed ourselves on a budget of $5. We built an amazing tent village from blankets and sheets, sang, played charades and murder (the wink version). They all loved it! Thanks Claudia Hyde and Poppaea Wilson for your help. Now everyone has to collect their sponsorship for this 40 Hour famine which we want in by next riday 20 June. If you are a parent, caregiver, friend or supporter, make sure you have sponsored us!

National Young Leaders Day

Mokoia Intermediate students attended this year's event at the Rotorua Events Centre. They were challenged and inspired to Dream, Dare, Do...

Anzac Day 2014

Thirteen Mokoia Intermediate students gave up their morning in the middle of the school holidays, to commemorate the lives and work of our servicemen and women.
We met at he memorial on the corner if Whakaue and Fenton Street. We were given our "marching orders" - literally - and the parade began. In ranks of four, we joined the service groups, schools and other organisations, down Fenton to the roundabout and left under Princes Gate to the Event Centre.
The mayor, Steve Chadwick, officiated. The service consisted of prayer, readings, music and a slide show.
Areta Pakinga and Kaci Dittmer, laid the wreath on behalf of our school.
Thanks to Mrs Comber, Mr Ellis and Mrs Hyde for attending.

Meet the Teacher Evening

We had a great turn out to our first community night.  Families took advantage of the free sausage sizzle and our wonderful Home and school team were kept very busy manning the barbecue.

Mrs Epp introduced the staff and Mrs Little talked about the camp weeks at Thornton Beach.

Once in the learning centres, teachers introduced themselves more fully and answered questions.

Letting Our Community Know about PB4L

We held a very successful evening, the main point being to inform them about our Positive Behaviour For Learning programme. A free sausage sizzle ensured families were well fed and the extra draw cards were student roleplays and entertainment from our various arts and cultural groups.
